well this is the R and D side of things like how to switch or reverse polarity of a d.c motor perhaps just by using a switch..it`s not the hard all you need is a DP.DT switch weather it be push button or toggle or some other type perhaps the contacts on a relay..etc..etc.. so with the switch upside down looking at the pins directly in 2 straight rows of 3 pins take a wire diagonally across the 4 outer most pins this only requires 2 wires so when done and soldered it looks like a X or cross.. so to speak.. next the input pair go to the two pins left in the center..take note of the polarity at the time so it will be less confusing,,i guess,,when finished.. so these two wires are the voltage.or electrical input of the D.C..supply now the output goes two the 2 pins on the edge which are on one side or the other of the cross wires on either side of the switch does no matter.. so now your thinking ok i see what is happening when i throw the switch from one side toggling it to the other it`s simple too see how it works and to test ...always check that the switch relay etc..etc..is rated to handle the current that your switching.. the out puts are in line with the 2 rows of the three pins in a row.. you flick the switch back and forward using a DMM to test it with a supply input just use 5 volt to test it ..there is no minimum voltage that it wont switch.. but be aware of maximum current ratings.. same goes for a DPDT relay except your electo-mechanicaly toggling the D.C via the switching circuit using the relay contacts instead ..with another or the same supply..voltage but that is another circuit..i guess i have to add some wiring diagrams..etc.etc.. this is a works in progress..
